Using Social Media Marketing to find customers and clients for your home based business is a worth while pursuit! However it can also be frustrating and confusing. Recently I was asked a great question, “How to get feedback that what you are doing/writing/saying is worthwhile?”
My response back was a lot of questions because it takes experimenting, testing and tweeking to figure out what are the best actions and activities for you and your niche.
- Are you commenting on complimentary sites?
- Does your site have lots of places for people to interact?
- Are you offering something for free for your potential customers and clients when they actually arrive on your site?
- Is your site current?
- Do you use Facebook Lists? You can find out how over by submitting your name and email on Butterfly Networking, it is one of the 30 tips.
Here are 6 tips to help you to discover, connect and engage with your target market…
Only say enough – find that fine line between not saying enough to catch their interest and saying too much that you bore them or scare them away.
Do not expect answers – most people today are simply too busy, when they are first getting to know you they will not respond, yes they may be looking and watching, but they are waiting for you to prove yourself to them.
Get to the point – being precise in what you say will demonstrate to your potential customers and clients that you value their time. You are not going to waste their time with a bunch of worthless drivel.
It is not about you – when you write comment and ask questions from the perspective of how best can I serve my clients and customers you will find that more people will be attracted to your offers.
Come from a place of confidence – who likes to team up with a losing team – No One! Displaying confidence will demonstrate to your target market that you are a person who knows what they are talking about.
Don’t overwhelm the person – Have you ever submitted your name and email to a site only to be immediately be bombarded with a whole bunch of email? What did you do? Unsubscribe? Most likely! Give people the chance to get to know you, remember just like a friendship it takes time. Once they get to know you it may be more appropriate to send more. A great way to find this out is to ask them.
Trust the process! Like friendship building your presence on-line takes time and testing.
