When you decide that you want to take advantage of the tools call social media marketing I would advise that you give it some real serious thought. To be successful in driving traffic to your websites or pages will take patience and consistency.
Once you have made that decision there are a number of processes and procedures that you can adopt to make the task easier and more fun.
Leverage your efforts – There are 100’s of tools out there and new ones being developed all the time. Take the time to research them and get advice from others. When you Google your question you will likely be surprised at the depth of the responses. EzineArticles will be a great source of information on the different tools. One of my favorite is Hootsuite and yes I have written an article on it. Closely watch what the experts in your niche are doing and follow their example.
Set up a process or procedures for yourself; what specifically to do on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Be specific, write it down and follow it. An process that I follow for my Terrific Tuesday Teleclass to ensure that I will have a quality recording requires some tweeking on the final save. I have this process written out on an index card, a listing of the the specific setting that I need to modify. Plus I have included on the card the title format, album and author name. I do all of this for consistency, which makes my podcast easier to find when searching for it on-line.
Focus your time on what you do best, outsource or delegate the rest. In the beginning this may be more difficult as there are so many demands for the income when it starts to trickle in. However if you can outsource in some way you will be able to concentrate more on what you do best which will result in more income coming in the door.
Consistency is critical on-line. Be flexible, patient and test; the market is always changing it is important that you are out there listening to what your customers and clients want. Then provide that on a consistent basis. You decide what consistency means to you; once a month, week, day, or hour. When you know your market they will come to expect your material or information at a specific time or day. An example; I do a “Monday Pick Me Up”posting on my blog. It would be a little silly if I were to post it on any other day but Monday.
“I learned that the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to work hard at it. Whether you’re a musician, a writer, an athlete or a businessman, there is no getting around it. If you do, you’ll win–if you don’t, you won’t.” – Bruce Jenner, Olympic Gold Medalist.
