    I think the nature of Facebook is changing for several reasons. It started out as a place for friends and family to communicate with each other. It attracted massive traffic and, of course, people wanted to use that traffic to promote their businesses. And then FB wanted to monetise the traffic. It kinda changed the game a bit.

    I don’t know what will happen in the future, but it seems that now some businesses are moving away from FB, saying that it’s too expensive to advertise. Also, some of the non-business users are drifting away because they don’t like the changes. Only time will tell how it’s going to pan out, but it’ll be interesting to watch the developments.

  2. I selected a blog design that makes heavy use of “Featured Images,” and one of the nice things about that is that when I share a post on my Facebook page, the images accompany it. Images DO make a difference.

  3. I’ve heard conflicting information regarding businesses on facebook. Seemingly the algorithm has recently been amended, so it is very difficult to get information to land in front of the eyes of those that have “liked” one’s page. Seemingly there s an overt push by facebook to get you to pay $7 for each and every post to be seen by those followers of a business “page”.

  4. Yes Alistair,Facebook has commercialised page reach and it is not possible to get the status update appear in your fans page with out advertising spend.- Jonathan
